Water, Water...Not Everywear

Did you know an average american uses 150 gallons of water a day, while citizens in developing countries can barely find 5?  I just learned that fact and a whol;e bunch of shocking others on a very cool new site, it's called charity: water and it's all for the good of the people. But I like it too because it's really well designed and has stunning (literally) National Geographic style photography, and the stories to match.  Read the stories, feel the facts and then you might find it impossible not to donate. And if not, at least remember to turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.

I Heart Color

I often find myself trying to compose fresh color palettes for clients and surprisingly, it's one of the harder things to do.  You'd think after years of PMS books and color theory classes, it'd be second nature for me. Even choosing a color scheme to paint my bathroom recently took me hours. But, now that I've come across Colour Lovers (yea, it musta been created by some Brits) I've gotten loads of inspiration not only for design, but for my home and style.

Check it out at colourlovers.com.

The first days of change - where do you even start?

I'm wondering how overwhelmed Obama is right now with the laundry list of headaches left by the Bush administration. I have to design a proposal package and a website tomorrow before partaking in beer friday. He has to figure out how to erase our National Debt and make World Peace. It makes me feel lucky that I work at Promar and not on capitol hill. And at least I have a solid starting point for tomorrow. Good luck Ob's. More power to you. Oh and btw, 44 is my lucky number...maybe this will all turn out ok.

Country as a bowl of grits...Not anymore!

I came across the Tennessee Tourism website awhile ago and find myself often looking back for inspiration. I never thought much about Tennessee past the Smoky Mountains and Country music but this site is an inspiring combination of original multimedia and incredibly interesting content. It's constantly being updated with design and handdrawn details that are on the Free People/Anthropologie level of genius. They even have a website for every season, Springtime is my favorite! So after delving into the site,  I have a seriously new found respect and intrigue for the "Volunteer State." Maybe I'll even join my brother on one of his trips to Gatlinburg someday. Maybe....

Pop the Bubbly

I recently discovered a new found love for expensive champagne. Maybe it was all the bubbly poppin at my wedding or just the cool skinny flute champagne comes in, but my how my taste has changed.  I will never be satisfied with Andre again after tasting the sweet nectar of Moet. The $39.99 for a bottle is well worth every drop. And as the left-leaning political commentator, Rachel Maddow once said " Always keep a bottle in the fridge, because you might need to celebrate at any moment." Now that's my kind of girl. Here's to you Rach.

One milllllion dollars

I heard a rumor that pepsi paid over $1 million dollars for their new logo which looks surprisingly just like the old one. They totally should have asked me, I definitely would have done it for under a mil. Way waaaaay under. Your loss Pepsi, hey coke, call me!

Dude, Where's the Hope?

I'm not sure if it's right to voice my political views on my work blog, but Obama's campaign is too full of creativity, forward thinking and design charisma not too. From apps for your iPhone to designer t-shirts (think zac posen and juicy couture), finally a refreshing and innovative look at branding a political figure, and basically branding in general.
